In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. Position Purpose
Develop & maintain employee training needs, practices & procedures. Develop & maintain the training program for process operators & maintenance technicians. Improve & maintain the onboarding of newly hired project employees within the first 90 days. This includes preparing &/or conducting training programs, as well as coordinating on site/off site operational training classes &/or seminars. Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring project schedule, scope & budget are adhered to according to approved project plan. This role will also be responsible for generating business cases related to the training project & presenting to local & possibly global management structures to attain funding &approvals.
Accountabilities
- Manages the training project portfolio, to include project objectives, scope, strategy, technical details, milestones, risk analysis & cost estimates
- Develop & manage comprehensive training activities for assigned areas, to include estimated work effort required
- Coordinate development of training materials & other documents as needed to enable business readiness & a successful implementation & turnover of the process or learning system to end users within various departments
- Identify & develop competencies as needed
- Serve as single point of contact for clients, vendors, & internal staff associated with the projects’ training engagements
- Establish relationships with all relevant internal stakeholders & external institutions as needed
- Keep abreast of training & development research, including learning theory, motivation theory & new materials
- Support implementation of training Systems
- Plan & execute on-boarding plan aligned with recruitment activities
- Organizational consulting & future planning
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Other Duties: NNWay (modeling & teaching values), training, promoting diversity, training needs assessment, new employee orientation segments, meeting planning & co-facilitation
- Other specialist duties (process championship roles) as assigned to support fellow partners & the business
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in human resources or related field, or an equivalent combination of education & experience
- Minimum five (5) years of in functional training programs experience, preferably in a multi-shift manufacturing organization
- Minimum two (2) years of project management experience, preferably including project start-up experience
- Minimum three (3) years of experience with Instructional Design & strategy, preferably including Instructional Systems Design
- Project management skills
Desired Qualifications
- MA/MS preferred
- Advanced Project Management competencies obtained through relevant PM training or experience
- Business understanding, pharma knowledge a plus
- Understand current Instructional System Design

- Proven expertise in organizing information & people from across the organization to develop & implement policies & programs to promote positive employee relations
- Support core processes to meet or exceed company business goals
- Proven expertise in driving large scale project plans
Physical & Other Requirements
- Occasionally moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions
- Requires ability to move throughout the facility in the performance of duties in proximity of process equipment & areas
- Constantly operates a computer & other office equipment using hands
- Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
- Ability to work the hours necessary to support a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation
- Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction
- Ability to adjust schedule to work with colleagues in other international time zones
- Ability to travel internationally, as requested (up to 10%)
