The Office of Encampment Management is dedicated to ensuring the cleanliness of the City and County of Denver. This includes but is not limited to removal of debris from encampments city wide, Graffiti removal, and the Downtown Action Team operations.

The Office of Encampment Management team has an opening for a Maintenance Technician. This is a wonderful opportunity to get into the City and County of Denver. Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Removal of graffiti throughout the city and county of Denver
-
Operation of spatialized equipment including but not limited to Power washer and paint sprayer
-
Removal of debris in the right of way
-
Contacting other teams to get resources to clean and clear large debris in the right of way
-
Communication with many different groups to ensure questions from residents and other city employees are answered accurately and in a timely matter.

Cleans, adjusts, and lubricates engines, pumps, and compressors and replaces belts and filters.

By position, inspect facilities and equipment to identify construction, maintenance and repair needs including estimating materials, labor, time, and cost of repairs.

By position, operates and maintain lightweight vehicles and equipment.

By position, utilize a computer for diagnosing system problems.

By position, prepares and maintains irrigation and sprinkler systems for seasonal use.
-
By position, may be required to be on-call to address emergent needs.
-
By position, participates in snow removal duties.
-
By position, responds to after-hours calls or emergency calls outside of normal scheduled or business hours.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Any one position may not include all of the duties listed. However, the allocation of positions will be determined by the amount of time spent in performing the essential duties listed above.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge of operations equipment including but not limited to power washer and paint sprayer

Ability to operate light to medium duty equipment
-
Knowledge of mobile technology to complete paperwork digitally in the field
-
Ability to communicate professionally through verbal and written communication.

Innovative thinker that is willing to share ideas to improve the work environment for the whole team

Self-motivated individual

Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.

Experience Requirement: One (1) year of experience performing a variety of duties in construction, mechanical, or facility maintenance.

Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
-
License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
