1. Summary:

This role will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to monitor and proactively maintain equipment to help ensure that the Plant is running at optimal capacity at all times. S/he will follow all available Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and use knowledge of equipment operation and Plant specifications to safely install, inspect, test, calibrate, adjust, and repair equipment, instruments, control systems, and electronic and electrical Plant equipment and systems. This position will also remove malfunctioning or obsolete equipment. The Maintenance Technician must be knowledgeable of, and responsible for, complying with all safety and environmental requirements to the highest standards under federal and state law. This position will support ‘on call’ as necessary 24 hours per day, every day of the year.

2. Essential Functions:

· Follows a schedule to ensure machinery is working within customary tolerances.

· Repairs defects and malfunctions for all equipment, included but not limited to: boilers, pumps, compressors, generators, reactors, heat exchangers, filters, grinders, absorbing towers, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, storage batteries, and electrical systems.

· Searches for breakage or excessive wear and informs the Maintenance Manager.

· Assists in calibration, troubleshooting, and repairing plant instrumentation, including but not limited to transmitters, analyzers, control valves, switches, and relays.

· Adjusts clearance and timing of control devices to specifications, using pliers, screwdriver, wrenches, and other tools.

· Assists the Maintenance Manager with installing new equipment or modifying existing installations following technical instructions from the manufacturer.

· Removes outdated parts and equipment under the approval or direction of the Maintenance Manager.

· Disassembles equipment using hand tools and/or portable power tools as needed.

· Ability to safely operate powered Industrial Equipment

· Assist with document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of all parts, equipment, and machinery.

· Assists Maintenance Manager with written inventory of spare parts, supplies and equipment.

· Provides verbal or written reports to the Maintenance Manager as required.

3. Nonessential Functions: Assist with any tasks assigned by Management.

4. Minimum Qualifications:

· Education Level: High school Diploma or G.E.D.

· Field of Study (if applicable): Graduate of a technical high school, 2 yr. technical school

· Experience (years and *environment): 1 – 2 years

· Environment: At least one year’s experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Knowledge and comprehension of EPA, DOT, OSHA, and state regulations commonly associated with a renewable diesel manufacturing facility.

· Proficient in English reading, writing, and oral.

· Skill Certification(s) such as welding, pump mechanic, electrical, etc. a plus

7. Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently carrying, lifting, and/or moving up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Frequently carrying, lifting, and/or moving 100 to 250 lbs. assisted.
  • Ability to maneuver of up to 600 lbs. with handcart.
  • Kneeling, stooping, bending, sitting, and walking extensively.
  • Ability to work outside in various climates and conditions.

8. Safety Sensitivities:

  • Ability to manage contact/exposure to chemicals ordinarily found in a renewable diesel manufacturing facility.
  • Responsible for operation of powered industrial equipment.
  • Responsible for maintenance of valves, piping and equipment controlling and regulating the flow of materials and chemical constituents throughout the production system to ensure efficient and safe production.
