The Wood Group is hiring a part-time LVN for Crisis Residential facility in Amarillo, TX.
The mission of The Wood Group is to provide quality behavioral health services that assist individuals with mental illness or other special needs to live healthy and productive lifestyles within their communities.
Position available:
- Part-time (25hr) per week - Monday to Friday.
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide nursing services to the crisis respite program including but not limited to: Physical assessments, timely documentation, as well as teaching and assisting adults with mental illnesses.
2. Must be on duty25 hours per week and must be available by telephone after hours and on weekends.
3. Correctly filling out MARS forms on a continual basis and being in constant contact with doctors, pharmacists, case workers, etc. with concern to the care of the residents.
4. Maintains Standard (Universal) Precaution Guidelines and safety measures according to Agency policies and procedures.
5. Keeping track of all doctor’s appointments and follow-ups, including prescriptions, notes, orders, etc. given by a doctor or pharmacist as it pertains to the residents.
6. Assists in orientation and training of new personnel in medication management to include supervision of self-observation of medication by the residents of their individual medications.
7. Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
8. Responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
9. Handles client health information at a minimum necessary to document data, access and carry out responsibilities of the position, maintains client confidentiality.
10. Working hand in hand with the Behavioral Health Authority on all issues and concerns of the residents.
11. Immediately report all abuse, neglect or exploitation and medication errors to The Wood Group’s Client Rights Officer and facility administrator.
12. Be familiar with The Wood Group’s policy and procedures to include employee handbook.
13. Performs related work as assigned by the administrator.
Education and Qualifications:
- Is currently licensed to practice as a vocational nurse (LVN) in Texas.
- Must be 18yr of age.
- Valid Texas Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Has excellent observation, oral and written communication skills.
- Organizing assigned work functions and processes; reviewing, evaluating, and modifying work methods.
- Establishing and maintaining working relationships with clients, customers, and representatives of other agencies or departments.
- Using initiative and independent judgment within general policy guidelines
