Summary
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Collect, log and file oil samples for quality control checks
- Perform quality control analyses in accordance with plant and/or customer specifications
- Perform laboratory housekeeping duties to include washing glassware, cleaning floors and cabinets and emptying trash containers
- Operate quality control instruments
- Learn to calibrate and perform simple maintenance on laboratory instruments
- Learn specialized quality control test to include but limited to solid fat content, spectrometry and chromatography
- Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state and federal agencies as well as company policies
Minimum Education
- High school Diploma / GED (required)
- College Degree in a science program (preferred)
Experience Requirements
- 2-4 years of applicable lab experience required
- Education can be substituted for experience
- Reading, writing and math skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
Experience Preferred
- Knowledge of quality control preferred
- Knowledge of chemistry preferred
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Able to move freely throughout the Quality Control Laboratory and Oil refinery facility
- Climbing vertical heights (0-150')
- Carrying equipment or samples (0-50 pounds)
- Exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit)
- Humidity (0-100%)
- Noise (50db to 100db)
- Chemicals (SDS sheets available)
- Must be able to wear protective equipment
