Junior Requirements Management [Analyst/Specialist/Engineer?]

CSEngineering is looking to add a Junior Requirements [Analyst/Specialist/Engineer?] to our growing team at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland! This position supports NASA by standardizing its requirements management. Each spacecraft NASA launches begins its life as a list of requirements, the specifications NASA needs the craft to fulfill. Those requirements define the spacecraft by defining its capabilities before anything else happens. By simplifying the use of IBM DOORS, a database that has since become NASA-Goddard's default standard, to hold and track all requirements data. The first CSE-DOORS spacecraft, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, launched in 2009.

COMPANY OVERVIEW

CSEngineering was founded in 2002 with the mission of being the best engineering and services firm in our industry while achieving the highest level of client satisfaction. CSEngineering has significant past performance with satellite systems, weapons and missile systems, naval architecture and engineering, aviation systems, and IT and Enterprise Architecture. We have come a long way since we were founded and now also provide services with focuses on logistics, item management, administration, equipment specialization, program management, configuration management, financial management, LAN operations, information technology and maintenance, development and operation of missile system laboratories, the operation of data collection systems, database, and information management support, and demilitarization processes. We could not achieve this without the dedication of our employees to their work and the clients we serve. CSEngineering truly values its people, wants them to love their jobs, and to build their careers with us. We are forever dissatisfied with the status quo and are always looking for a better way to do things, not so much out of competitiveness, but out of a desire to simply be THE BEST and to lead our industry.

CLIENT OVERVIEW

NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center is home to the nation's largest organization of combined scientists and engineers that build spacecraft, instruments, and innovative technology to study the Earth, the sun, our solar system, and the Universe. Goddard currently has over 26 spacecraft studying such important scientific areas as the moon, our shrinking polar ice caps and global weather. For years, each project reinvented the wheel for each new spacecraft and occasionally, requirements fell through the cracks. DOORS allows engineers to focus on building spacecraft, rather than requirements management. Requirements - and the justification for them - carry over from project to project. Before launch, NASA has a list of all the spacecraft's up-to-date requirements and proof that every single one of them has been satisfied. Effective requirements management ensures that such issues, which are critical in one sense of the word, never have the opportunity to become critical in a more dire sense of the word.
