Job Title: Islamic Religious Services Provider

Based at: Dayton Correctional Institution 4104 Germanton Pike Dayton, OH 45417

Job Summary: SAFRO is looking for an Islamic Religious Services Provider

Duties:

• Conducted once per week, well prepared meaningful periods of worship; congregated activities (Jumuah prayer, Zuhr and two Eid prayers annually)
• Candidate one religious learning class (Taleem) per week. Contractor must plan and organize classes, group discussions, selected media and forums.
• Establish a weekly pastoral care routine to provide individual religious services to incarcerated individuals in special units such as segregation, death row, hospital, hospice care, and other specialized living units.
• Plan and coordinate Ramadan; make referrals to appropriate institutional services; monitor and distribute religious literature and/or materials.
• Complete monthly reports and submit to Deputy warden Special services (DWSS) and DRC Religious Service Administrator, no later than the 5th of the month.
• Attend Annual Religious Service meeting
• The Muslim Religious Service Provider will conduct funeral services for Muslim incarcerated individuals, washing, shrouding, burial, and praying for the person (as needed)

Qualifications:

• Submit License to Preach and/or Certificate of Ordination, and current Ecclesiastical Endorsement by sponsoring denomination. Preferred: completion of some units of training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
