Our Military Space Line of Business has an exciting opportunity for an early-career level Program Planner. This is a role that will have the size and scope to offer you valuable career development experiences. If you are an enthusiastic self-starter, eager to learn, thrive in a fast-paced environment, lead by example, and have the uncanny ability to influence and cultivate collaboration and partnership, this is an exceptional opportunity to further develop your career as a Program Planner. In this role, you will support Next Gen GEO OPIR, which is designed to provide a resilient space-based global missile warning capability against emerging missile and counter-space threats. It’s in its early stages just past CDR and is a fast-paced and exciting place to be. We’re looking for the right person to shape the team direction, expand on strong cross-organizational relationships, and make recommendations to the program management and executive teams.

Summary of Key Duties: In this role you will….

  • Work closely with Control Account Managers (CAM’s) and Engineering to develop and maintain resource-loaded Engineering Execution plans in support of multiple programs and Management

  • Analyze effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing to identify and mitigate risk

  • Provide status, maintains metrics and prepares presentations for customers and leadership

  • Maintain support to segments and enterprise with schedule analysis, earned value metrics, data integrity

Although this position does support some teleworking; the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in either Highlands Ranch, CO or Sunnyvale, CA and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience/combined education (~11 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree; ~ 7 years of relevant experience with an Associate’s degree)

  • Experience working in a customer-oriented role

  • Computer experience and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelors degree (Business Operations or other related major)

  • Prior program planning-related experience

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing directives

  • Self-starter and motivated to contribute to process improvements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects within given scope and deadlines

  • Strong relationship builder with the customer and team members with the ability to diplomatically work through problems

  • Curiosity, positive attitude, and strong organizational skills
