CAPTRUST is seeking an
Institutional Investment Research Associate who will work with our Financial Advisors, Client Services professionals, Marketing colleagues, and occasionally directly with clients to scope/fulfill projects and deliverables for prospective and existing institutional clients (e.g., pension plans, endowments, foundations). The Associate will also monitor discretionary institutional portfolios to ensure compliance with Investment Policy Statements and initiate trading flows needed due to rebalancing or allocation changes. Primary responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:
- Complete timely client-specific deliverables, including asset allocation reviews, fund comparisons, and construction of Investment Policy Statements
- Analyze and accurately initiate trade flows needed due to rebalancing, tactical allocation changes, or client-driven requests
- Collect, compare, and evaluate client-specific portfolio characteristics for compliance with Investment Policy Statements
- Conduct portfolio and manager level performance attribution and summarize results
- Collaborate with other departments to consolidate firm recommendations based on client objectives
- Summarize key messaging/recommendations and prepare meeting materials for existing and prospective institutional clients
- Manage and prioritize significant client needs in cyclical periods of peak demand
- Identify opportunities to enhance or improve the efficiency of client deliverables/operations
- Identify issues/challenges and work independently to develop creative and scalable solutions
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of a four-year college degree - Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics preferred, or equivalent work experience
- 0-2 years of related experience
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- In pursuit of CFA or other industry credentials
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Good organization and prioritization skills; ability to manage many time-sensitive tasks simultaneously
- Detail oriented
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate well with others
- Technology savvy, proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills, includes being polished, courteous, professional, and patient
