The Opportunity

As the Industry Analyst for Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures (MLCV) you will research, analyze, and report on different trends within government contracting, especially 8(a) contracting, identifying potential opportunities for growth.

What You Get to Do

• Collect and identify trends in spending, technology, regulations, current events, and other factors that could impact our 8(a)-government contracting business.
• Collect and analyze raw data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and other helpful information. Use data to recommend strategies, processes, and investments to increase profits, efficiency, quality, improve compliance, and reduce costs.
• Conduct research on competitors to identify opportunities and benchmark performance.
• Work with MLCV’s finance team to review monthly financials, proposed budgets, forecast cashflow, and evaluate performance.
• Requisition and purchase data sources to provide research and analysis.
• Analyze and recommend technologies and products that can improve efficiency or productivity.
• Work with internal departments to collect data and develop and implement strategies.
• Participate in strategic planning meetings to help develop long-term strategies that will help MLCV manage its investment in 8(a) government contracting.
• Analyze current economic conditions and forecast future trends to help MLCV leadership make informed decisions.
• Conducting surveys, interviews, and focus groups to gather qualitative and quantitative data and insights from industry experts and contract officers.
• Identify and analyze possible acquisition targets and other start up (a)-government opportunities.
• Tracking government contract awards and performance.
• Monitoring and analyzing government procurement policies and regulations, as well as opportunities to influence change.
• Create reports and presentations to summarize findings, educate MLCV leadership, and influence company decisions.

What Qualifies You

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, statistics, or related field.
• Seven + years’ experience as an Industry Analyst in government contracting (preferably 8(a)).
• Ability to recognize patterns and trends in large data sets and use numerical information to develop business strategies.
• Strong math, organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional presentation, research, and verbal and written communication.
• Ability to summarize and explain complex information to others.
• Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
