Overview:

Kimley-Horn, one of Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join the HR Operations team in our Warrenville, IL office.

Responsibilities:

The HR Coordinator will be involved in a variety of HR initiatives and projects, including the Affirmative Action plans and other federal reporting requirements, OFCCP audits, safety program, worker’s compensation program and vendor management.

This is an in-office position.

Compliance and Risk

  • Partner on vendor relationship management, such as vendors relating to workplace anti-harassment training, background check and drug screens, online and hard copy labor law posters and compliance software, to ensure satisfaction, compliance and value received with content and products.
  • Support AAP process to ensure completion of more than 50 plans throughout the firm. Requires close coordination with
  • Compliance Specialist, Recruiters and EEO/AA officer.
  • Create and submit EEO, Veterans and other federal and state regulatory reporting.
  • Research, monitor and educate regional HR teams regarding federal, state, and local laws related to various employment and labor issues to stay abreast of changes and regulations.
  • Maintain Employee Handbook by releasing bi-annual updates and publishing necessary revisions.
  • Support Compliance Specialist with Immigration process and documentation by consulting with outside Immigration law firm.
  • Participate in subcommittees to review existing and implement new processes and procedures for efficiencies and growth.
  • Maintain certain information in UKG Pro (HCM); publish reports from UKG Pro for use by marketing teams and others.

Safety and Security

  • Support Safety Specialist with various aspects of the safety program, including AED program, safety intranet page, Alert Media employee notification service, etc.
  • Support Safety Specialist with special projects and firmwide safety initiatives including developing policies and procedures to address OSHA and other general safety concerns.
  • Partner with Safety Specialist to maintain and implement security initiatives across the firm
  • Participate in subcommittees to review existing and implement new processes and procedures.
Qualifications:

Required Attributes

  • Ability to effectively audit/assess HR programs and processes
  • Demonstrate excellent project management, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Self-directed to handle multiple priorities, complex problems, and process issues
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to work with and appropriately maintain confidential information
  • Demonstrate effective communication, presentation, training, and facilitation skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Human Resources or related field
  • 1-3 years of related experience in Human Resources
  • Experience managing affirmative action and safety programs a plus
  • Knowledge of the HR regulatory/compliance environment as it relates to employee and labor law and related practices, including emerging legislation, a plus

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel
Office hours are 7:30am – 5:30pm Monday – Thursday and 7:30am – 11:30am Friday.
