We’re looking for a Doorperson who is a hard-working, friendly, dedicated, personable, professional, and communicates well. The ideal candidate will greet guests upon arrival, welcome them, will bid farewell upon departure and thank all the guests.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Greet each guest in a friendly and professional manner at the front door of the hotel; maintain the front door area in an organized and clean manner; assist with transportation as needed.

  • Open vehicle and hotel doors and greet arriving and departing guests.
  • Hail taxis as needed.
  • Respond to guest questions and answer information on local attractions, events and daily activities in the hotel.
  • Be aware of V.I.P. and repeat guests and greet them by name.
  • Sweep and mop the floor and outside door area to maintain an organized and clean appearance at the hotel front door daily.
  • Maintain knowledge of all emergency procedures, including guest-related responsibilities and evacuation procedures. Assist in the case of an emergency.
  • Perform check-in and check-out calls, involving luggage handling and the escorting of guests from the front door to the front desk, or vice versa, on a frequent basis.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS

  • Must have the ability to communicate in English.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Can communicate well with guests.
  • Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  • Knowledge of the hotel and the city.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage with sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to load and unload luggage up to 75 lbs.

In order to maintain a positive guest and associate experience, your work habits should always meet and strive to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance. You should be adaptable to change in your work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, have the ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job, and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.
