Regions Hospital has a full-time opportunity for a Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor to join our team! The HIM Supervisor may lead and supervise multiple teams and/or functions across the organization. This position is looked to as a health information management professional who is readily available as a resource to other departments across the organization who have questions related to medical records and the management and protection of our patients’ medical records. The HIM Supervisor will perform and supervise a wide variety of computer and paper-based tasks, manage turnaround times, support, and collaborate with clinical operations and information technology to ensure the accessibility and integrity of patient information is maintained for the continuum of care. The HIM Supervisor oversees daily operations of HIM teams as assigned including HR related duties (i.e., hiring, developing, corrective action, etc.). This role is expected to maintain presence during normal business hours and participate in on call rotation of evenings/nights/weekends. The HIM Supervisor will collaborate to resolve complex issues regarding HIM always functions and maintain a Best Care Best Experience customer service focus and attitude. The HIM Supervisor will assist the manager in ensuring ongoing open communication with team members and other HIM leaders and business units regarding changes in workflow, staffing, coverage, and other issues that may impact HIM.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or other field (Ex: Business, Mathematics, Communications, Health Informatics) and/or enrollment in an associate or Bachelor’s Degree program in Health Information Management
• 3-5 years’ experience with paper medical records, electronic medical records, and issues resolution in a health information management environment, strong organizational and people skills, and some leadership experience OR enrollment in an Associate or bachelor’s degree program in Health Information Management with 2-4 years’ experience in a health information management environment with strong organizational and people skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management upon hire
• 1-3 years of applicable leadership experience in a lead or supervisory role. Epic experience preferred
• RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) credentialed
