    This position is intended for a teacher to support students with literacy skills, executive functioning, and other general academic needs that will support success in a high school classroom.

    Essential Duties
    ? Reinforce various levels of literacy skills (e.g. close reading strategies, annotating, note-taking, summarizing, paraphrasing, communication skills) in a classroom setting, small groups, and/or one-on-one with students
    ? Prepare daily lesson plans, obtain appropriate materials, and organize and implement appropriate activities
    ? Collaborate with the mental health specialist to provide wrap around services that support students both academically and social-emotionally
    ? Communicate with significant adults as needed regarding student needs, successes, and
    overall progress

    Salary is determined by placement on Licensed Salary Schedule according to education and experience.

    Education/Certification:
    • 1. Bachelor's degree required
    • 2. Hold or be eligible to hold a Colorado Teaching License.
    • 3. Hold appropriate endorsement (English/Language Arts)
    Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
    Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain and demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing needs; recognize opportunities for improvement and/or implements improved methods within the limits of authority: demonstrate effective group facilitation skills; ability to work individually with students and in whole-group instruction; create and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships with colleagues, community members, students and parents; use team concepts to plan, problem solve, and share space, equipment, resources, and knowledge with coworkers; support the ideas, efforts, and accomplishments of others; ability to work with and lead students in whole class and small group settings; knowledge of effective behavior management techniques; knowledge of best practices for intervention and supporting struggling students; Familiarity with MTSS structures and processes, including tiered instruction.
