Montgomery County Emergency Service (MCES) is Hiring!

We are located on the grounds of Norristown State Hospital in Norristown, PA and accessible by public transportation. We are looking for Full Time Psychiatric Admissions Nurses who would like to join our team!

Work Schedule: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am and 7 am-7 pm, 69 hrs bi-weekly, Every other weekend may be required

Education / Experience Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing w/a minimum of an Associate's degree and one (1) year of Psychiatric Nursing experience. Prior Charge Nurse experience in a Psychiatric setting, is a plus. BSN or MSN preferred. Must have valid PA Registered Nurse License and CPR.

Job Duties:

Primary responsibilities for the Psychiatric Admissions Nurse include:

The Admissions Nurse greets individuals arriving for services through our walk in Crisis Center, ensures the safety of patients being seen, assesses for emergency medical conditions, and arranges for further medication attention in coordination with the physician when necessary.

The Admissions Nurse completes vital signs, drug screens, pregnancy tests, finger sticks, and EKG's; ensures treatment of pain and reviews and logs patient medications; follows Physician orders for medication, administers medication, and completes appropriate documentation as well as clarifies Physician orders when needed.

Must be able to demonstrate competency in planning and providing nursing care for special disabilities patients, geriatric patients, and co-occurring patients while maintaining standards for behavior, completion of ADLs, daily assessment, (withdrawal symptoms), and assessing individual symptoms relevant to diverse type of patient.

*Starting salary range: $32/hr - $36/hr + shift differential & weekend PRN rates. SIGN ON
BONUSES up to $10,000.00 for Full Time.
