Nexus-Onarga is hiring for an On Call Food Service Assistant!
Nexus-Onarga Family Healing is located approximately 90 miles south of Chicago, only a few miles from I-57 on a historic site in Onarga, IL. Nexus-Onarga provides boys, ages 10 to 20, a structured, homelike environment where they can safely address their problematic sexual behaviors and their emotional and behavioral issues. Nexus-Onarga is part of Nexus Family Healing, a national nonprofit network of mental health agencies providing innovative, customized help for children and families struggling with emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform general food service tasks within pre-established standard operating procedures and adhere to all policies and procedures surrounding food handling, sanitation, health and safety.
  • Assist with the development of food and beverage plans for the youth and other organizational needs as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records on meal counts, food usages, etc., as directed.
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding youth issues, background and treatment; comply with Nexus policies involving privacy and confidentiality rules for youth and their families

Education, Credentials and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Prefer 1 year food service/custodial experience.
  • Certificate in food handling or obtain with in 3 months of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license. Must meet state driving requirements and pass corporate insurance eligibility standards.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted and 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion tasks with hands and wrists.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, twist and turn in a manner conducive to a large cafeteria/cooking environment.
