Overview

A food manager at the Goddard School of Alexandria wears many hats. They serve as our Food Prep/Cook and Sanitation Specialist.

Food Prep/Cook (SHG = School House Grill)

• Checks the refrigerator temperature and annotates it
• Prepares AM and PM snack and delivers to classrooms
• Gathers all school lunches and places in refrigerator
• Prepares labels for SHG lunches
• Receives SHG lunches and records their temperatures
• Delivers SHG lunches to the classrooms
• Warms and delivers school lunches from refrigerator
• Keeps a running list of items needed for the kitchen and snacks and provides that list to the Program Director at least every other week to place a food order
• Ensures food prep areas, counters, and carts are cleaned and sanitized often
• Ensures the pantry is stocked, organized, clean (no food stored on the floor)
• Ensures lunch containers are washed and sanitized daily
• Ensures refrigerator is maintained clean and sanitized of any spills
• Each Friday, tosses out any remaining staff food that has been in refrigerator all week

Sanitation Specialist

• Fills the 3 kitchen sinks (wash, rinse, sanitize)
• Wipe down and sanitize dish drying rack
• Fill and distribute bleach and soap/water bottles to the classrooms
• Ensure the bottle bins are cleaned out daily
• Washes all AM/PM snack dishes
• Empties, cleans, sanitizes sinks at the end of the day

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
