Field Installation Technician - Telecom

Reports To: PROJECT MANAGER

Working Hours: 40 HOURS in normal condition, shift work required

Markets: Nationwide

Pay: $28 - $32 p/h W2, + per Diem

Status: Amy US work authorization

Special Requirement: Cell site installation experience required

Overview:

Glow Networks is looking for experienced Installation Field Technicians to join our team nationwide.

Essential Functions:

• Power On, Commissioning/Execute site install Scripts and integration of various OEM equipment, of multiple carriers/technologies on a site
• Login/Logout with Integration bridge
• Execute SCF/On-Site scripts to provide remote connectivity to Remote support team.
• Troubleshoot and correct integration related issues
• Provide pre and post ground photos per customer requirements.
• Label and tag all cables/fibers as required
• Scan all assets as required
• Provide asset/serial numbers to customer on all new equipment installed on site.
• Functional Call Testing at the site to confirm voice & data call flow
• E911/PSAP call testing during integration for Existing carriers, moving to new baseband or if change in CGI.
• Track and report all work completed via Customer Apps etc.
• Label and tag all cables/fibers as required.
• Install New Baseband, SFP, fiber jumpers on site. Pick up of new baseband from warehouse.
• Scan NEW baseband to update site inventory.
• Remove Old Baseband from site. Delivery of old baseband to warehouse.
• Scan Old baseband OUT of site inventory
• Install New Baseband, SFP, fiber jumpers on site. Pick up of new baseband from warehouse.
• Scan NEW baseband to update site inventory
• Remove Old Baseband from site. Delivery of old baseband to warehouse.
• Scan Old baseband OUT of site inventory
• Perform E911 testing at the site as per Client test format and guidelines.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Work will be performed on site by qualified Field Techs
• Field Tech must have a working cell phone
• Extensive use of computerized software tools to perform network access and fault isolation

Education/Experience and Competencies:

• Must have High School diploma or GED
• Nokia Air Scale Certification or Ericsson RBS Certification
• Understand provisioning scripts, configuration files, and the like to support the upgrades to customer equipment
• Direct telecommunications industry hands on experience
• Proven strong troubleshooting skills in a remote technical support role
• Ability to read MOP and work on the same
• Strong teamwork, good communication and documentation skills;
• Availability for shift work and weekend on call activity is required
