BDC Laboratories is searching for a “Facilities Coordinator” who will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensuring that the facilities are safe and well-functioning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
· Maintains physical space, ensures a safe, clean, and functional environment.
· Ensures assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use.
· Plans, coordinates, and installs telecommunications, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc., and refurbishments.
· Maintains phones, internet access and printers.
· Maintains inventory of supplies and reorders, as necessary.
· Manages the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
· Inspects the building structure to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
· Reviews the utility consumption and strives to minimize costs.
· Controls activities: parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security, etc.
· Allocates office space according to needs and availability.
· Handles all service contracts.
· Drafts and implements preventive maintenance schedules for buildings and equipment.
· Manages the distribution and collection of key fobs.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications of Position:
· High school diploma and general education degree (GED).
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the facilities field or in a relevant position.
· Must be well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
· Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) or related software necessary to create and maintain reports and logs.
Job Type: This is a full-time / non-exempt position. The schedule is an 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday and will report to the HR Generalist.
Pay: Starting pay is $22.80 per hour
Physical Activities for this position:
· The ideal candidate must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times.
· Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings.
· Must be able to sustain prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the facility.
· Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
