Job description
The Disability Examiner is responsible for following the Social Security Administration (SSA) Disability program policies to evaluate claims to determine eligibility for benefits. The Disability Examiner will obtain medical and vocational records, communicate with claimants, representatives, co-workers, medical professionals and other sources to gather information and analyze the information to make policy compliant eligibility determinations. Must pass Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) screening and background investigations for suitability and access to SSA facilities and systems. Must be within commuting distance to the Des Moines office. Recent and current college graduates are encouraged to apply.

- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively through phone, email, and other written instruction.
- Attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to learn complex medical information, vocational policies and ongoing technologies.
