Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation
The Events Coordinator is responsible for the assisting and supporting the planning, implementation and logistics for over 70 Undergraduate Admissions, Orientation, Scholarship and Enrollment Management events per year. These on-campus, off-campus and virtual events range from strategic events for targeted scholars to large campus programs such as New Student Day with more than 2,000 students and family members in attendance.
The incumbent will also play an integral role in other events, including our Summer Preview Day, Fall Open House, Retriever Days, Transfer Open House and Just for Juniors. These events range in size from 250 to 1,500 guests. In addition, this position assists in arranging specialized receptions for targeted enrollment populations and with the logistical arrangements, registrations and communications for 35 Orientation programs each year. Orientation is a large-scale effort that requires campus-wide collaboration to ensure a positive experience for 3,500 new students and their parents, with the ultimate goal of securing enrollment and promoting retention.
This position requires extensive and complex planning and coordination with both internal and external vendors, such as caterers, business partners, transportation professionals, technical support and housekeeping services. The incumbent assists, as needed, with student leader supervision, including Grit Guides and Orientation Peer Ambassadors; produces statistical reports for event assessment and evaluation; creates informational packets and nametags; and prepares communication to prospective students regarding event. In addition, the Events Coordinator closely monitors and updates registration software for all events and orientation programming.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Two years of related experience, preferably working with events in an university admissions setting
