Summary

The Equipment Manager responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding supply needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

· Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.

· Assesses current equipment availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.

· Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.

· Proficiently understand what equipment we have on order, when produced, cost and manufacture and type of trailer

· Ensure all equipment sur-charges are accounted for

o Ensure PO’s are update

o Ensure all contracts are updated with sale price

· Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for equipment.

· Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing

· Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.

· Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.

· Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.

· Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers.

· Manage the shipping process

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in related field required or equivalent experience

· At least three years of experience in related field required.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

· Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.

· May require travel.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, executives, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts...

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions of customer requirements. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Other Qualifications

Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, voice mail, copier, fax, and calculator. Requires the ability to operate various software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Experience Requirements

· Training on equipment will be provided by the company as well as equipment manufacturers, so no prior equipment knowledge is necessary, though knowledge of class 8 trucks and trailers would be considered a plus.

· Updating websites, selling/advertising through social media & other digital platforms

· Proven Sales Skills, with documented success

· Minimum two years successful track record in equipment sales

· Knowledge and ability to create sales contracts and process title and financial information

· Ability to negotiate, process and sign contracts

· Dealership familiarity considered a plus
