Boeing is seeking a Digital Engineer to join the growing team in Boeing Additive Manufacturing Intelligence Center. This role allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will work onsite at one of the listed location options El Segundo, CA, Berkeley, MO, or Arlington, VA.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Experienced, and Senior Digital Engineers.
Additive manufacturing brings enormous opportunities to Boeing, including innovative designs, advanced tooling, enhanced flying platforms, individualized services, and many more. The enablement of scale and quality for additive manufacturing requires an end to end digital thread approach. Working within the Boeing Additive Manufacturing Intelligence Center, you will aid in the deployment of the AM digital thread and advanced software tools to address business needs. You will partner with Boeing internal teams, universities, and public institutes to rapidly mature emerging technologies trends and products. You will work directly with additive manufacturing partners to address their needs on data collection, tool development and smart factory. Finally, you will assist in customer consultations, deliver major system components, and advise on the use of appropriate software tools and processes.
Position Responsibilities:
Actively support the design, development, debugging, testing, production hardening, and deployment of software tools for the Auburn Additive Manufacturing Facility to enable digital thread and digital twin capabilities.
Assists with analyses to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
Interface with and provide requirements for a geographically distributed digital thread development team
Assist the implementation of shop floor digital solutions, data management strategies, and enable feedback loop of additive manufacturing data to support engineering design and qualification
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
2+ years of experience programming with software development and analysis tools (examples include: Python, C#, Groovy, Java, MATLAB, etc.)
Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems and system administration
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) technologies (Apache Nifi)
Experience with factory data historians
Relatable experience with a major database vendor’s product
Hands-on experience with implementing data acquisition in a manufacturing environment
Experience with the Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test, Sustainment), test driven development (TDD)
Experience in continuous integration/delivery, agile management tools (TFS/Jira)
Cloud application development
Strong communication skills and able to work with a geographically distributed development and support team.

Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility if relocation is needed. The selected candidate will work onsite at one of the listed location options (El Segundo, CA; St. Louis, MO; Arlington, VA).

Summary pay range for Associate: $79,900 - $116,150
Summary pay range for Experienced : $96,050 - $139,150
Summary pay range for Senior: $119,850 - $173,650
