SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

This is an mid-level position where employees will use electrical drawings to build panels, modify electrical enclosures, fabricate racks, bend conduit, and layout and assemble electrical components.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow electrical drawings to lay-out, build, install, and test electrical components on autoclave, ovens, and other industrial equipment.
  • Install/wire circuit breakers, terminal blocks, transducers, relays, switches, motors, pumps, fans, valves, thermocouples, lights, and other electrical components.
  • Run electrical conduit, pull wire, and mount enclosures on industrial equipment.
  • Includes working with 24V, 120V and 480V panels and equipment.
  • Perform electrical continuity tests and testing on 24V and 120V panels.
  • Learn and perform all work in accordance with the National Electric Code.
  • Travel to customer’s sites to run wire and conduit, and install electrical components

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Directly reports to the Utah general manager and works as part of the electrical production team. Supervised by production leads and supervisors. Works closely with the mechanical fabrication, electrical engineering, and field engineering departments.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

This is an mid-level position. It requires:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of occupational courses is preferred.
  • 3 years or more experience a required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools.
  • An ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • An eagerness to learn about industrial electrical work
  • A safety-first mindset, a positive attitude, and an ability to work well with others

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The following requirements are essential for safe performance of this job:

  • Must be able to lift objects weighing 70 lbs. and twist at the waist.
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and twist at the waist.
  • Must be able to frequently push and pull objects weighing 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, squat, kneel, and lie on level, uneven and slippery concrete surfaces.
  • Must be able to reach through low and high ranges and exhibit normal balance and coordination.
  • Must be able to sit and stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time lasting up to 10 hours.
  • Manual dexterity for the use of common tools is required.
  • Must be able to climb using 3 points of contact.
  • Must be capable of working in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
  • Work will be on average half time outside and half time in production facilities.
  • Color vision, hearing, and vision must be in normal ranges.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to work safely in a heavy manufacturing environment. Exposure to weather conditions, such as cold and heat, noise and dust/particles caused by welding and other fabrication activities associated with the production of industrial process equipment. PPE will be required which includes hard hats, steel-toed shoes, protective glasses and ear protection. Additional protective devices are required when appropriate for a given task including protective gloves, back braces, dust masks or respirators.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
