Job description
Provide electrical design, procurement, planning, and supervision of capital projects. Plan and perform engineering studies, evaluations, and design of plant projects and modifications to improve and enhance plant efficiency and improve equipment reliability. Enhance plant safety, environmental compliance and reliability. Improve communications between departments. Provide complete project management for capital projects including budgeting, scheduling, hiring, and directing subcontractors, developing work scope, supervising all activities associated with project. Maintain and update 5 year capital plan. Develop and oversee maintenance and testing of plant electrical system. Maximum voltage in Plant power system is 69KV.1) Maintenance/Reliability
a) Develop and maintain electrical safety program;
i) Implement requirements of NFPA 70E, not limited to;
ii) Electrical Safe Working Practices
iii) PPE
iv) LOTO
v) Arc Flash Study
vi) Energized Work Permit
b) Maintain ETAP for plant system.
i) Fault
ii) Coordination
iii) Load flow
iv) Arc Flash
v) Motor starting
vi) Reliability; can use ETAP or other method
c) Equipment
i) Develop and maintain testing and PM program and repair specifications for electrical equipment not limited to;
(1) Switchgear
(2) Circuit breakers
(3) Transformers
(4) Cables
(5) Motors
(6) Relays (digital and electro-mechanical)
(7) Generators
(8) UPS
(9) MCC
(10) VFD's
(11) Lighting
(12) Instruments, PLC, and DCS
(13) Develop or adopt testing procedures for the above

(1) Knowledgeable on using and interpreting results from;
(a) Transformer oil testing
(b) Transformer electrical test
(c) PdMA and other motor test.
(d) Partial Discharge and other cable test.

(a) Support the I/E shop with RCFA
(b) Improve shop knowledge on;

(ii) Equipment
(iii) Troubleshooting
(iv) Operation

(c) Identify tools required by shop
Capital
a) Work with plant staff and maintenance of plant electrical system to develop and maintain 5 year capital plan. Adjust timing/cost as priorities change.
b) Function as liaison with Engineering and equipment vendors to convey PCI's values, equipment requirements, operational requirements, and financial constraints.
c) Communicate system limitations/plant conditions during upgrades or installation of new equipment to plant staff for operational planning.
d) Use ETAP to model plant modifications to meet safety, reliability, and operational requirements.
e) Develop biddable equipment specifics to meet plant/project safety and operational needs.
f) Develop drawings (one-lines, three-lines, wiring diagrams, schematics, power plans, installation details, etc) to allow contractor to bid and install new equipment and for plant personnel to maintain.
g) Provide field supervision of contractors and plant personnel on installation, testing, and startup of new equipment.

Requirements: Degree in Electrical Engineering and experience in the chemical process industry. Extensive experience in inspecting, maintaining, and specifying electrical systems and equipment is desired. Experience in PLC, DCS, and tuning instruments is strongly preferred. Strong familiarization with electrical inspection, testing, and maintenance techniques is also recommended. Requires after hours support on occasion.
