Our Direct Support Manager leads a team of supervisors, team leads and caregivers that all support individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs to live their fullest lives.
Overview of Position:
Crest Services provides home and community-based services (HCBS) to individuals with mental or developmental disabilities or those with traumatic brain injuries. This position is currently responsible for managing HCBS Adult Foster Care and Semi-Independent Living Services throughout Freeborn and surrounding counties and is based in Albert Lea, MN. The Albert Lea operation currently supports nearly 50 members and is actively looking to expand our business throughout northern Iowa. Schedule is primarily first shift but must be available after hours on-call, including nights / weekends as needed.
What you do as Manager:
- Oversee all programs and services throughout your operation.
- Manage staff and provide coaching, development, and training as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, stakeholders, managed care organizations, DHS, and other industry associations.
- Manage projects and strategic initiatives from planning to closure / implementation.
- Manage by objectives / targets and work independently to achieve outcomes.
- Solve problems, address issues, and de-escalate emergencies if they arise.
- Promote a fair, firm, and consistent approach in alignment with corporate policies / procedures.
- Ensure operational performance meets / exceeds stated key performance indicators.
- Maintain high level of engagement with employees and strong relationships with members, stakeholders, and case managers.
- Exercise discretion, sound judgment, and authority with decision making.
- Represent Crest Services with DHS and managed care organizations.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new growth opportunities / referrals.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data / information and compile reporting.
- Remain alert to personnel problems and recommend solutions timely.
- Complete performance evaluations, timesheet approval, and leave request approvals.
- Consult with Human Resources on employee relations, performance management, recruiting, retention, job duties, salary, and other personnel related items.
- Represent Crest Services and region on various boards / committees and sponsor community involvement / volunteer activities.
- Ensure regulatory compliance standards are met (e.g. HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws, MN Administrative Code), and any issues are reported as appropriate.

What you need:
- Degree in a field related to human services and 1+ year of relevant direct care experience or diploma AND 3+ years of direct care experience.
- 5+ years of management experience, including responsibility of directly managing other supervisors / managers AND including 3+ years at a supervisory level in a direct support environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Home & Community Based Service Standards and 245D requirements.
- Proof of insurance and valid MN driver's license.
- Ability to fluently communicate in English (verbal and written communication).
- Ability to build a team environment and a willingness to pitch in and help as needed and requested.
- Ability to handle feedback professionally and adjust processes and/or behaviors as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex information.
- Ability to maintain a friendly, upbeat, motivated attitude with a positive and professional presence.
- Ability to consistently manage both controlled and uncontrolled environments while making informed strategic and tactical decisions.
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced and at times stressful and continuously changing environment.
- Ability to influence and partner with all levels of the company to achieve results
- Proven experience managing projects and initiatives.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel).
- Proven track record for decisive action - backed by strategic planning, continuous improvement, analytical thinking, outcome-directed leadership and service-oriented performance.

- Active nursing license with LPN or RN credential.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
