Job Summary
The digital operator is responsible for the careful operation of equipment to meet the graphic needs of Cushing customers. This requires careful reading of orders, understanding the safe operation of equipment, and a customer service understanding of requirements and deadlines. In addition, the operator must have a thorough knowledge of the software required to control the equipment in his/her department, as well as a general understanding of quality control procedures. Operator also shows a thorough knowledge of the company’s other production areas and a general grasp of the industry’s role in satisfying customer needs. Ability to master teamwork with a positive attitude is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify customers’ graphic requirements using various applications from the Adobe Creative Cloud
• Communicate with colleagues about best methods to complete the project scope by analyzing all available resources.
• Complete successful file setup, color matching, proofing, editing to meets customer’s expectations.
• Operator must be able to use Onyx Thrive rip software
• Opening print queues and/or digitally setting up jobs to be printed
• Ability to load and operate each device with thorough knowledge and understanding
• Set up job parameters using the print device interfaces – either on equipment or through computer controls
• Collect the output from jobs and collate, bind, add hardware, QC, and package as required*
• Contact customers by phone or email as needed for clarification of job requirements and sort out conflict.
• Consistently check for quality and accuracy of jobs; responsible for signing off on all types of projects
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and positive attitude.
• Work with other ColorLab members and staff to coordinate usage of machine equipment and daily work orders.

Job Qualifications

• High School diploma required, experience with printing graphics preferred
• Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with customers as well as ColorLab supervisor and colleagues
• Computer skills to use basic office software, e-mail, internet, as well as knowledge of the Adobe Created Cloud
• Thorough understanding of various file-formats, file transfer techniques, attachments, and troubleshooting.
• Some lifting required, up to 50 lbs; ability to work standing while operating the print equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
