Job description
We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced database technician who will be responsible for connecting various sensors worldwide into the company’s public safety and security database. Working with the Chief Technology Officer, database manager, and database developers, you will be managing the flow of data from sensors to a long-term cloud-based repository.
To ensure success as a database technician, you should possess extensive knowledge of how data moves between the point of collection to a cloud-based environment. An outstanding database technician will be someone whose expertise translates into the optimal flow of real-time actionable information.
Database Technician Responsibilities:
- Oversee the flow of data collected by various sensors from a customer’s on-site location to our cloud-based long-term repository.
- Develop work flow diagrams for how data will move from sensor to cloud-based storage.
- Work closely with database manager to ensure the database and cloud repository maintain connection with sensor technologies deployed worldwide.
- Ensure data s transferring in real-time by logging into each sensor and reporting collection numbers daily.
- Troubleshoot issues in collection between sensor and repository immediately.
- Partner with sensor companies to ensure that the data flow architecture is accurate, implemented, and effective.
- Develop procedures to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Prepare and presenting performance reports on the flow of data from sensor to cloud-based repository to senior managers.
- Keep up to date with developments and trends in optimizing data flow.
Database Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in management information systems (MIS), computer science, information systems, or information technology.
- At least 2 years of experience working with data from various sensor technologies.
- At least 2 years of experience with cloud-based S3 storage systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to include Java Script Object Notation (JSON API).
- In-depth knowledge of data engineering and architecture.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
