GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the site Maintenance Director/Executive Director, the incumbent will provide facility members with a safe and clean facility as it relates to the mission and goals of the YMCA of El Paso. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES 1. Clean and maintain both locker rooms. 2. Clean and maintain activity areas (except pool area). 3. Clean and maintain entry areas. 4. Clean and maintain office areas. 5. Clean and maintain exterior areas. 6. Assist Maintenance Director/Executive Director, as needed. 7. Report any unsafe situation , incident or accident to the Maint Dir/Exec Dir immediately. 8. Attendance and punctuality are required for this position. 9. Must exemplify YMCA Core Values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility & faith, and implement these values into daily behavior and all program/work areas.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Knowledge, Skills and Ability A. Must be able to communicate with the membership in a pleasant manner. B. Must know how to perform basic custodial skills (mopping, sweeping, etc.) C. Must be able to perform duties without direct supervision. D. Must be able to follow a check list. 2. Education or Formal Training A. None required. 3. Experience A. No work experience required. (See Knowledge, Skills & Ability section above.) 4. Materials and Equipment Directly Used A. Common custodial equipment and chemicals. B. Must be able to erad and follow directions indicated on containers. 5. Working Environment and Physical Activities: A. Environment is physically demanding. B. Must be able to move (lift and carry without strain) up to 60 pounds. C. Must be able to remain on feet and walk for up to 8 hour shifts. D. Must be able to climb a 10-foot ladder. E. Must be able to visually recognize areas that need cleaning. F. Must be able to efficiently move custodial equipment (vacuum, mop buckets, brooms, mechanized floor cleaning equipment, etc.) Additional Requirements: 1. Must wear goggles when pouring or working with hazardous chemicals. 2. Must attend additional training as directed by supervisor (CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention, Member Services Training, Proper Lifting, etc.)

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Perform attached daily duties check list as required by supervisor. 2. Read and abide by YMCA Personnel Policy. 3. Attend all staff meetings as directed by supervisor. 4. Must attend staff training as instructed by supervisor, to include Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, Character Development and Customer Service Training.
