About ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, a campus of ECU Health Medical Center

ECU Health Beaufort Hospital is located in Washington and serves as a campus ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville. The 142-bed full-service hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, intensive care, emergency, pediatrics and women's services. In addition there is a lab, diagnostic imaging services, physical and respiratory therapy. The facility also features the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, offering leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services.

Position Summary

The cook will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods: to include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Special/Catered events. The cook is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. The cook is responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Vidant Health may identify other responsibilities of the position as needed.

As a Cook, you are also responsible for ensuring a positive first impression by greeting patients, visitors, internal customers and your peers with a smile and genuine attitude that says, "Welcome to Vidant Beaufort Hospital. It is my pleasure to serve you. How may I help you today?"

Minimum Requirements

• Must be able to follow printed recipes and place specifications.
• Have a valid NC driver's license and abide by Vidant Health Corporate Driving Policy.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule required.
• Sufficient knowledge of modified diets required.
• Must be able to working in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
• Must comply with any dress code requirements.

• Shift(s): Varies, but mostly 8 hours
• Weekend Duty: Rotating
