Salary Range: $110,000.00 -$127,000.00

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

This is a blended position overseeing the technical and clinical operations at all IR sites. This role will work collaboratively with the QA Nurse Manager/IR Nurse Supervisor and IR staff to oversee all operational activities. Clinical Operations Manager will adhere to all regulatory guidelines related to Controlled Substances, Medication Administration, Medication Security and Storage. The Clinical Operations Manager will improve operating processes, manage inventory, train staff on new products and processes related to medication and equipment and ensure emergency equipment meets all compliance guidelines. This role will perform all duties associated with acquisition, archiving and process of X-Ray and US images and ensuring Radiations Safety regulations are met. In this role the candidate is responsible for implementing quality and cost management measures and promoting initiatives to ensure work flow and throughput are successful.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with the clinical team to train new staff -Interventional Radiology Procedures including positioning and prepping the patient, setting up the room before the IR procedures. Assist with procedures when required.

Maintenance of all equipment on site; maintain logbooks with equipment performance data, schedule PMs; performs QA daily, maintain required records and participates in inspections

Maintain departmental inventory and ensure all equipment is kept at par levels including both medical and pharmaceutical equipment. Ensure compliance with inventory logs

Act as Superuser for Nexsys Automated Medication Dispensing Machine; Create User Access, restock and reconfigure cells; Manage audits and run reports. Clear discrepancies and report all issues to the QA Nurse Manager. Work with Capsa Nexsys Vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Train new staff on ADM with security and user access.

Collaborate with onsite managers to fulfill staffing needs;

Responsible for purchasing and maintaining ancillary medical, surgical and pharmaceutical supplies including controlled substances; Act as designated signor for all CSOS (Controlled Substance Ordering System) and Federal 222 form orders. Set up process for delivery of supplies to prevent divergence of pharmaceuticals

Oversite of all controlled substances to prevent divergency from ordering, receiving, inventorying and returning expired controlled substances to approved reverse distributor.

Work with QA Nurse Manager to set up training and education for staff on new equipment, procedures, and pharmacy regulations

Work with vendors to review new and existing equipment and contracts; Coordinate meetings to discuss new prospective and existing medical devices and proctoring for procedures). Assist with creation of new accounts for purchasing department; Obtain source letters and quotes along with price comparison; acts as the intermediary with purchasing in negotiations product pricing with vendors and product inquiry.

Manages and negotiates Consignment agreements. Ensure capital equipment is covered under maintenance and that contracts terms are adhered to; Create Inventory system for IR supplies

Coordinates the creation of custom procedural items with multiple IR vendors. Participates in evaluation of new equipment that may be purchased, and quotations.

Maintain and retain account files and is accountable for the invoices corresponding with items received. Ensure pricing and inventory matches established agreements. Acts as a point of contact for deliveries to the office.

Works in conjunction with manufacturer’s quality control department, to perform the investigational process to report the incidents according to protocol, secures replacements for defective devices finding alternatives in the event of product recalls, shortages or discontinuations.

Serve as the point of contact for Information Technology (IT) related to software and hardware issues. Assist with DOH and JCAHO requirements including maintaining licensing information.

Maintain Radiation exposure logs. Works with the Radiation Safety officer to ensure that radiation standers are adhered to. Actively participates in radiation protection by maintaining ALARA standards, monitoring film badges and coordinating radiation safety training.

Maintains equipment log books and documents for New York State Department of Health inspections. Ensures that findings from DOH and Office based surgery inspections are addressed in a timely manner. Ensure Bio Med overview is timely for tagged equipment

Ensures proper handling and disposing of pharmaceutical and hazardous materials are compliant with federal, state and other regulatory bodies.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience, plus four (4) years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of related Nursing Experience preferred

Other Requirements

New York State RN License

Graduate AMA approved school of radiology

New York State Licensed X-Ray Technologist by the Department of Health

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills
