We are looking for an experienced Chief Executive Officer to help steer our company toward continued success. The ideal candidate for this position will be an expert in both management and technology, and will have extensive experience influencing and leading a team through a variety of challenges. The successful candidate for this position will be able to balance the demands of company owners and investors with the needs of employees.

POSITION SUMMARY

The San Carlos Apache Tribe Peridot District, through the San Carlos Apache Tribal Council, has established the Peridot District Economic Enterprise (“PDEE” or “Enterprise”), as a Chartered Enterprise of the San Carlos Apache Tribe. The PDEE Board of Directors is in search of a Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) to manage the affairs and assets of the Enterprise, including all subsidiaries of PDEE. The CEO will report directly to and is accountable to the Board of Directors of PDEE. Currently, the following Companies/Services are under the umbrella of the PDEE: Apache Burger Travel Center, Peridot Shopping Center, Maintenance Plus Cleaning, Soda Canyon Complex, San Carlos Equipment Rental, San Carlos True Value Hardware, Apache Vending Machines, Micro Cash-short Term Lending Solutions, Apache Burger Mobile, ATM services, Apache Security Services, and Peridot Tastee Treats.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities below are illustrative of the tasks performed and is not all-inclusive:

· Assures timely filing of all legal and regulatory documents and monitors compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

· Reviews and consults with legal counsel on all contracts, service agreements, joint venture agreements, teaming agreements and any other legal documents necessary for the operation of the PDEE.

· Hires and supervises staff of the Enterprise including performing annual staff performance evaluations and approving staff salary and classification adjustments in conformance with the approved budget.

· Assists the Board to determine and implement values, mission, vision and short and long-term goals and objectives.

· Manages and administers general oversight of all PDEE activities, including managing day-to-day operations, assuring program quality and organizational stability through development and implementation of standards and controls, systems and procedures, and regular evaluation.

· Administers professional service contracts with architectural, engineering, environmental, and other consultants; reviews studies, reports, design plans, and other technical submittals to ensure conformance with contractual obligations; approves contract invoices for payment; negotiates and approves contract changes.

· Administers contracts with construction and service contractors, with the assistance of other corporations and consultants, to ensure conformance with contract requirements; approves contract invoices for payment; negotiates and approves contract changes.

· Continuously searches for new economic development opportunities and ensures a mix of not only revenue generating efforts, but on reservation employment intensive opportunities.

· Attends monthly PDEE Board of Director meetings and, at the Direction of the Board, makes presentations to keep the Tribal Council informed of PDEE activities.

· Prepares and provides monthly financial reports to the PDEE Board of Directors, including balance sheets and profit/loss statements for all subsidiaries.

· Establishes successful and profitable operations.

· Performs any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Board of Directors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree with preference in the field of business and must have at least five years of specialized experience in a senior management position. The ideal candidate will have an MBA or closely related Master’s Degree.

· Applicant must demonstrate competency in government contracting, financial management, contract negotiations and Federal Procurement Policies and Procedures.

· Applicant must have experience and the ability to communicate and coordinate with Tribal Community members, Tribal/Federal Political and Governmental representatives, architects, engineers, economists and other professional consultants.

· Applicant must have the ability to successfully direct an organization.

· Applicant must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age with a valid Arizona Drivers License.

· Applicant must be able to pass a criminal background investigation through local, state and federal criminal records.

· Applicant must not have had felony or misdemeanor arrests/convictions within the past twelve (12) months and no DUI arrests/convictions in the past three (3) years.

· Applicant must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen.

PREFERENCE

As an enterprise of the San Carlos Apache Tribe the goal is to employ as many Tribal members as possible in Tribal positions. Therefore, all other qualifications being equal, Tribal members will receive hiring preference over other Indian Preference eligible and non-Indian Preference eligible applicants. Preference in filling vacancies may be given to honorably discharged veterans who are enrolled members of the San Carlos Apache Tribe.
