Job description

Have you successfully worked as an Accounting Manager and Business Administrator in a Fortune 1000 company or for a small business?

If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join the BoldHaus team, an Inc. 5000 fastest-growing company. We are a woman-owned, socially conscious, mission-driven small business that cultivates the success of small and diverse business owners worldwide.

As our Bookkeeper & Firm Administrator, you will help design and maintain the company-wide Policies and Procedures for staff and contractors as well as execute and manage all elements of the day-to-day accounting for the company.

You are passionate and exacting about maintaining a high caliber set of books as well as ensuring company Policies are designed, communicated and followed.

You have a knack for understanding detailed information about the company’s operations to provide insightful feedback to leadership on profitability.

You will be enthusiastic about building relationships with our clients/members, our strategic partners, and your BoldHaus colleagues from across the business to create a seamless set of operations.

This is a fast-paced, demanding, exciting, and rewarding role.

EXPECTATIONS OF YOUR IMPACT ON THE COMPANY:

  • Goal #1: You will maintain accurate and complete accounting records including management reporting segments to provide high value business insights to Leadership.
  • Goal #2: You will manage all aspects of the company’s payroll cycle including the payment of independent contractors and vendors.
  • Goal #3: You will manage and execute the collections processes for the company with its clients/members including managing the relationship with our merchant provider.
  • Goal #4: You will ensure the company’s Human Resources and company-wide Policies and Procedures are up to date and enforced.
  • Goal #5: You will manage the company-wide online tools utilized by the company including negotiating fees/discounts and serve as the system admin.
  • Goal #6: You will data mine our company systems and prepare ad-hoc analyses to drive business insights and inform decisions across the company.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & EXPECTATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Outstanding Microsoft Excel skills (including the creation and manipulation of pivot tables, charts and graphs.)
  • Strong attention to detail — including a natural ability to check your own work / self-review work for accuracy and completeness. (Essentially you are perfectionist when it comes to accounting, company systems and Human Resources.)
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Quickbooks online and Intuit Payroll suite.
  • Computer, digital, and web savvy, including the full Microsoft suite, as well as SaaS/web-based tools such as CRM systems, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically plan Human Resources initiatives, including objectives and tactics that are tied directly to measurable results.
  • Ability to thrive working in a work-from-home/remote-based team environment across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to work under pressure, deal with ever-shifting priorities, and meet tight deadlines. You are self-motivated and can self-manage.
  • Natural tendency to come to the table with answers ready to go. You are a problem solver, not a problem giver.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to support managing multiple priorities.
  • You can take information from multiple sources, process and synthesize it, and turn out strategic, accurate communications.
  • This role requires an average commitment of 45 to 50 hours per week.
  • Must be able to travel as needed.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends for the company’s conferences, client retreats, sponsorships, and other mission-critical, time-based activities.

  • Weekly recording of all journal entries to general ledger (Quickbooks Online) including applicable business segment information to support management reporting
  • Prepare and present monthly reconciliations of key accounting sources (Bank reconciliations, Credit Card reconciliations, Merchant Account/Paypal Account reconciliations, Payroll reconciliations, CRM system to G/L reconciliations)
