Basketball Scorekeeper/Clock Operator
Position
The part-time (seasonal) Basketball Scorekeeper/Clock Operator is responsible for operating the scoreboard and maintaining records of scheduled basketball games. The employee reports to the Supervisor of Recreation.
Essential Job Functions
- Keeps accurate records of the basketball game such as scoring, time-outs, fouls, etc.
- Operates scoreboard in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to see play with sufficient clarity to maintain accurate scoring records.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Recreation.
Duties, Responsibilities and Requirements
- Must be at least 15 yrs. (with required job permit) of age.
- Must possess knowledge of the Rules of Play standard to the game of basketball and as modified by the Prospect Heights Park District.
- Ability to operate a scoreboard.
- Prior scorekeeping experience is desirable.
- Ability to see play with sufficient clarity to maintain accurate scorekeeping.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with officials, coaches, players, supervisors and other employees of the park district.
- Ability to be on time to scheduled shifts and to notify your supervisor if unable to work.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
