Chubb is seeking a Commercial Lines Team Leader for the White Plains/Albany Branch Office

This Team Leader will supervise 3 Underwriters and assist the Commercial Insurance Department Manager with management responsibilities including financial information analysis and reporting, employee development and training, agent and producer relationship development, achieving renewal retention goals and assist in meeting financial goals for the $100 million dollar Commercial Insurance, Casualty & Marine book. Responsibilities include managing a sophisticated producer plant in White Plains and Albany. In addition to these responsibilities, the Team Leader will personally handle a $5 million book of commercial middle-market business as well as have personal production responsibilities for new business.

Other major duties and responsibilities of this position include:

Managing profit and growth for the assigned territory and book of business within the following lines of business/market segments: Property, General Liability, Worker's Compensation, Automobile, Umbrella and Foreign program placements.

Soliciting, risk selection and analysis (including documentation), pricing and sales of products and services for renewal business.

Successful market penetration and agency management including: acting as a key contact to build, maintain and manage customer/producer relationships (including regular agency visits based on business need).

Assist with agency planning and goal setting including monitoring of progress.

Identifying cross sell opportunities.

Meeting with prospective and renewal customers, to make sales presentations and negotiate coverage's, price, financial terms and service delivery, as necessary.

Working in a team environment with Underwriters, UA’s, Loss Control, Claims & Operations.

Meeting service standards of a customer focused strategy.

Collecting and sharing competitor data with team.

Qualifications - External

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Solid proficiency of commercial underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.

Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge in multi-line programs.

Proficient in the Multinational Underwriting and foreign program placements.

Proven and successful sales skills. (Meeting/exceeding new business production goals.)

Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.

Knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

History of success in new business production

Underwriting experience with Middle Market industry segments such as Real Estate, Manufacturing, Distribution and Professional Services

Minimum 7 years of Underwriting experience

The pay range for the role is $106,500 to $176,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
