Best Friends Pet Hotel is seeking an animal lover with retail sales, customer service, hospitality, veterinary, restaurant or service management experience to join our Pet Resort Management Team. Strong administrative and sales skills are a plus. We need an individual who is ready to learn our business and willing to advance through hard work and dedication!

Responsibilities include assisting the Manager of the Center with building the business, staff training/supervision, pet care, customer service, retail sales, community outreach, and administrative duties. Heavy phone, customer and pet contact. This is an "on-your-feet management" position and hands can get dirty! Position requires you to be flexible.


PURPOSE: To assist the Center Manager with the complete operation of a Center, including staffing, customer service, pet care knowledge, budgeting skills, sales and public relations.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Recruit, hire, train, promote, counsel, and dismiss Associates
  • Responsible for cash management
  • Assist with Center compliance of federal, state, and local labor laws: OSHA, EEOC, ADA, FLSA and DOL
  • Schedule staff for work assignments
  • Maintain center budget
  • Ensure their safety, security, and comfort of our pet guests
  • Administer medications to pet guests
  • Provide strong customer service and salesmanship
  • Resolve customer complaints timely
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies; Reorder and restock as necessary
  • Manage the computer reservation system
  • Assist Center Manager with monitoring financial reports and statistics.
  • Promote and market Best Friends’ programs and services internally and to the outside community at large
  • Establish and maintain network connections with the community in which the Center is located


Requirements:

  • Must profess a love of pets
  • Must have previous pet and supervisory experience
  • Great interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Good, basic computer skills; Excel and Word
  • Community outreach
  • Budget and labor planning
  • Retail and service sales
  • Financial reporting
  • Facility management
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays
