Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey is looking for energetic, fun, organized, and caring staff for the Summer 2023 Season!

Lake Rickabear Day Camp sits on 332 acres of land including a beautiful 40-acre, spring-fed lake, perfect for swimming, pedal boating, paddle boarding, and row boating. Our camp also has an archery range, low ropes challenge course, zip line, duck pin bowling, equestrian center, rock wall, gaga pit, volleyball court, and more.

Archery Specialist Responsibilities:

• Schedule and develop programs and lesson plans for archery
• Maintain strict safety procedures set forth by GSNNJ
• Instruct and support a group of up to 10 girls
• Attend pre-camp training and in-services
• Maintain communication with Unit Leaders, Counselors, and Junior Counselors regarding camper behavior and supervision
• Document and diligently report any health and welfare concerns to the Camp Health Supervisor
• Care for equipment, inventory, and provide recommendations for equipment as needed
• Develop reports and certificates and maintain records
• Submit seasonal report and evaluation of program activities
• Perform other duties as assigned

Archery Specialist Qualifications:

• Must be 18+ years of age
• Certification in Archery or willingness to obtain via training and certification by camp prior to camp season
• Desire and ability to supervise, lead, and positively manage campers and work with other staff in a cooperative, team-oriented camp atmosphere
• Knowledge and skills in archery and the ability to teach these skills to campers of all ages and staff in a safe, inclusive, creative, and fun way
• Ability to use sound judgement surrounding safety procedures
• Must be attentive and timely
• Regularly speak, read, write, interpret, and respond to words in the English language
• Must be able to communicate well with other staff and community partners
• Membership in GSUSA is required for the duration of contracted employment period
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
• First Aid and CPR certified or willingness to obtain prior to camp beginning
