Project Engineer for AEGIS Ship Projects for Lockheed Martin Ship Integration and Test efforts aboard US NAVY AEGIS surface combatants. Selected candidate will be part of the Ship Integration and Test (SI&T) team working in Washington, DC and supporting AEGIS Combat Systems design and integration organizational teams in Camden, NJ. The Project Engineer will conduct technical and programmatic engineering tasking in support of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Program Executive Officer Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) representatives located at Washington Navy Yard. Candidate will coordinate customer interactions at various program and technical reviews of AEGIS Combat Systems components (including radars and directors, computing infrastructure, cable and fiber optic backbone networks, naval gun and missile systems, shipboard IT networks, shipboard sonar suite, electronic warfare systems, etc.) and participate in Technical Data Package preparation and detailed design reviews with the DDG 51 Shipbuilding Program Office representatives. Daily interface with PEO IWS engineers and program managers, Naval Surface Warfare Center – Dahlgren Division (NSWC-DD), Naval Surface Warfare Center – Port Hueneme Division (NSWC-PHD), and various Combat Systems Program Acquisition Resource Manager (PARMs). Will closely interact with Ship Integration Engineering, program management, and Lockheed Martin Finance.
Responsibilities include:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education
Position requires strong initiative characteristics and exceptional teaming skills.
Position requires ability to lead planning efforts for SI&T (ship integration & Test) engineering services and projects.
Position may require occasional travel to Camden, NJ, Bath, ME and Pascagoula, MS
Ability to obtain Security Clearance
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with AEGIS combat system.
Minimum 3 years experience in design, integration, and/or installation engineering with knowledge of CG 47, DDG 51, and/or FMS AEGIS or other USN surface ship combat system equipment.
Knowledge of interface protocols, system design criteria, equipment interactions, major signal flows, and USN Shipbuilding specifications.
Familiarity with the latest applicable military specifications for electrical and optical cable, connectors and system design, integration and integrity testing.
Knowledge of military specifications and standards related to bonding and grounding of equipment on Navy Ships, MIL-STD 1310, MIL-STD-1399 and MIL-STD-901D (shock).
Prior operational experience in AEGIS fleet.

- Plan and formulate engineering program.
- Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Evaluate and approve design changes, specification and drawing releases.
- Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
