Our client, a well-established construction company with over a century of excellence, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team. As the Accounting Manager, you will be a key strategic partner to all departments, providing valuable financial analysis and guidance to drive informed business decisions. Job Title Responsibilities:
- You will have the opportunity to be hands-on in all accounting areas: GL, Payroll, AP, AR, Job Cost
- Lead close related activities to ensure accurate financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Complete close activities such as journal entries and reconciliations in a timely manner
- Build and fine-tune processes to improve our team's functionality
- Assist in treasury/banking related tasks
- Leverage our new ERP system by learning and improving on the current structure
- Prepare ad-hoc reporting as requested for job-cost, WIP, payroll, etc.
- Help oversee our team of 7 to make sure operations are running smoothly
- Spearhead requests such as: census', business license renewals, tax filings
- Be the liaison for the Annual Review completed by our CPA
- Work directly with the Controller and CEO on critical managerial decisions
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting/Finance required; CPA / MBA preferred
- 5+ years experience in the construction industry required
- Highly detail oriented, problem-solver, and analytical
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic space
- Work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Very strong communicator with a customer service approach
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- ERP Systems experience - Vista by Viewpoint, a plus.
