POSITION OVERVIEW
Fairfield Caterers is seeking an experienced professional to lead our finance, accounting, and administrative functions through a period of organizational growth and evolution.
NOTE: This is a senior-level role and reports directly to ownership. We are most interested in candidates with a strong accounting and finance background in the food & beverage, hospitality and/or restaurant fields.
As the company matures from a promising local business to an industry-leading organization, the Accounting Manager will manage the company's financial and administrative operations and drive an organization-wide culture of accountability, work effectively as a thought partner to managers across the company and empower fiscally sound and legally compliant decision-making at all levels.
This position will be based primarily in our offices in Brookfield, CT: there will be some opportunities to work flex hours and/or from home office; and there will be some local travel to the venues.
Responsibilities Include:
- Managing daily financial operations and supervising employees (2) in the general accounting function and all financial reporting including:
- accounts payable
- payment receipts and invoicing
- month end + year end close
- bank reconciliations and online cash management
- general ledger
- P&L
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow
- Budget creation + variance analysis
- Multi-state payroll tax (via Paychex) and sales tax reporting (CT + NY)
- Support human resource administration including payroll, medical benefits, Simple IRA , 401K (we use Paychex for time + attendance, payroll and some HR/benefits support)
- Provide sales projections and analysis.
- Participate in yearly tax preparation/support with company’s CPA firm.
- Support/coordination for yearly audits related to workers compensation and insurance.
- Project and budget management support for capital projects.
- 1099 reporting + filing.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5 years of accounting and finance experience, including experience in foodservice, hospitality or a related industry, evidenced by experience tracking food cost, hourly labor, inventories, seasonal cash flows.
- At least 3 years of people management experience.
- Expertise in financial and managerial reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, cash flow, and payroll.
- Strong affinity for technology and experience working with:
- QuickBooks, Paychex, Caterease
- Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills (V-lookups and Pivot Tables)
- A demonstrated ability to think strategically to assess risks, streamline systems, and reduce expenses.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to connect with and present to a variety of stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
