The 340B Team Pharmacy Technician Admin works closely with the 340B team lead to maintain system databases with current drug formulary or product specifications; assists with drug purchasing, inventory processes, dispensing, insurance billing including prior authorizations; ensures that the 340B program is fully compliant and being utilized properly; and ensuring Federal 340B standards are being met for providing support to patients, providers and 340b service partners; ensure 340B pharmacy operating procedures, which include program compliance and integrity. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver; process and detail oriented.
Qualifications:
- MS Word, Teams and Outlook experience
- Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
- Maintain focus and multitask in a busy environment.
- Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.
- State Registered Pharmacy Technician +/- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Pharmacy can expedite registration for qualified applicant.
- Pharmacy technician, accounting, database management experience preferred
- Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions.

- Reads and accurately interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

- Computes rates, ratios, and percentages
- Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Working Conditions:

- Working at a fast pace, subject to many interruptions and both physical and mental stress
Essential Functions:
Understand and be capable of completing 340B prescription processing, billing and all standard pharmacy technician responsibilities.
- Communicates with patients, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and patient’s provider +/- caregivers to conduct enrollment into patient care management program and follow-up continuation of care and screening assessments with prescription refills.
- Oversee record keeping so that all information is accurate, complete, and manage the flow of up-to-date information between customer service, patient care team and other parts of the company, such as the accounts receivable, accounts payable and billing.
- Maintain a roster of eligible covered entities, provider list and active wholesaler accounts.
- Correctly identify prescriptions that are 340B eligible during intake, denote the 340B covered entity in the pharmacy software and process the prescription using stock from the covered entity’s 340B inventory.
- Maintain up to date inventory counts and separation of stock for each 340B covered entity.
- Update and maintain accurate pricing and NDCs for 340B pharmacy drugs in the dispensing software.
- Dispense and package prescriptions under the direction of the on-duty pharmacist.
- Provide monthly reconciliations of 340B prescription claims per covered entity.
- Communicate and coordinate prescription refills with patients, providers and pharmacy staff.
- Communicate patient information necessary to schedule medical / pharmacy services.
- Determine correct resolution to patient complaints; take corrective action and monitor results.
- Maintains system databases to reflect changes in the drug formulary or product specifications.
- Participate in company committees when requested.
- Participate in in-service education programs provided by the company.
- Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with all licensure and federal, state, and local laws and regulations; observe the company’s policies on ‘’best practices’’.
- Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
- Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients, providers and vendors.
