Welcome to the New John & Kristie!
FREMONT, SEATTLE, WA :: Welcome to the new John & Kristie website! Well, sort of new.
Our little corner of the internet actually started out as thejohn.net, before becoming johnandkristie.com. The original site was a collection of photos and stories documenting our adventures, hikes, projects, and everyday life around the Pacific Northwest. It was our own little online photo album, back when having a personal website was still something of a novelty.
Now it’s time for a change! We’re moving toward a new format that will make it easier to share our adventures, add photos, and keep a running record of whatever we happen to be up to. The idea is still the same: a place to document our lives and share a little of them with family, friends, and anyone else who happens to wander by.
This transition is a bit of a work in progress. Stories and photos from the original site will eventually find their way over here. Others will remain right where they started, which explains why there’s a little overlap between the two versions.
Rather than retire the original website completely, We’ve decided to preserve it as a little piece of our internet history. You can explore it below, complete with its original design, navigation, and early-2000s web charm with a unique calendar-based UI. Remember, monitor resolutions were a lot less back in the early 2000s. You will likely need to squint. No promises everything still works!
So here’s to a new chapter for John & Kristie, and hopefully many more adventures, photos, and stories to come.
Take a look at the original website, open it in a new window.
