THOSE DAM BOAT GUYS, AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS :: The canal tour with Those Dam Boat Guys was a highlight of our first day. Just eight of us on a smaller boat, so we could slip into smaller canals the bigger tour boats can’t reach and saw the city from a totally different angle.
Captain Mark kept it fun and informative, guiding us under leaning buildings (including the oldest one from 1569), past Rembrandt’s old home, and the Dutch West Indies Company, a Dukes of Hazzard themed houseboat, and even the bridge that Rebecca fell off in Ted Lasso.
Best surprise was watching a group pull a bike out of the canal… one of about 15,000 a year. Only in Amsterdam!
