Universal Pain Management (www.universalpain.com) is seeking a Full Time Worker's Compensation Coordinator for our Palmdale office. As a part of the UPM team, the WC Coordinator requests authorization for treatment, updates patient accounts, coordinates care and responds to WC correspondence. Only candidates with WC experience will be considered. Insurance verification of HMO and private insurance a plus!

Job Description:

• Submits requests for authorizations (RFA’s) for W/C patients.
• Follows up with adjusters, NCM's and UR to obtain authorizations for treatment and medications.
• Modifies authorization requests when needed.
• Scans incoming W/C authorizations and correspondence into the electronic medical records system.
• Sends correspondence to CPM Coordinator to schedule approved W/C services.
• Answers incoming calls from staff, patients and attorneys regarding W/C inquiries.
• Replies to requests for information about W/C coverage and status.
• Maintains accurate and complete EMR records for W/C patients.
• QME knowledge or willing to learn.

Skills:

• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player and has the ability to work well with physicians, coworkers and patients.
• Experience working with attorneys, nurse case managers and adjusters.
• Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Utmost level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent computer skills. Must demonstrate Excel and Word proficiency.
• Dependable with very few unplanned absences.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years' of W/C insurance experience is a must.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $22.00 per year
