Per Diem
The Home Health Aide, under the supervision of the area Home Health RN will be required to do personal care services and homemaking to persons unable to perform these functions independently. The Home Health Aide will encourage patient/family member to participate in personal care in order to promote independence.
Job Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively;
- Certified Home Health Aide with a minimum of 75 hours training preferred
- History of good emotional stability with tact and good judgment;
- Spirit of dedication and a sincere interest in working with people who are ill;
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
Physical Standards:
Constantly: (Exists 75% or more of the time) Lifting and carrying 0-5 lbs.; repetitive: on feet for long periods.
Frequently: (Exists 25-75% of the time) Standing; walking, lifting and carrying 5-10 lbs; pushing and pulling 0-75 lbs (help is available 15-75lbs.).
Occasionally: (Exists 5- 25% of the time) Sitting with back support; reaching (forward, lateral, low); stooping (bend at waist); kneeling; lifting and carrying 10-25 lbs.; pushing and pulling 75 - >100 lbs. (help is available); exposure to infectious hazards.
Rarely (Exists under 5% of the time) Reaching (overhead); crouching (bend at knees); climbing; crawling; twisting; balance; lifting and carrying 25-40 lbs.; pushing and pulling 75->100 lbs (help is available); exposure to radiation, chemical hazards, slippery surfaces.
Sensory Requirements Hearing: conversation, telephone, background noise. Sensory discrimination (hot/cold, sharp/dull).
