Holt CAT is the largest Caterpillar dealership of heavy equipment in the United States. We have a full-time, 1st shift Welder position available at our Corpus Christi, Texas location. The hours of the position are Monday-Friday - 7 AM - 3:30 PM and overtime as needed.

Job Description :

This position is responsible for custom fabrication such as enclosures, UL fuel tanks, and skids. Performs welding repair/fabrication in accordance with D1.1 Structural Welding Code, B31.3. Fabricate components in a shop environment. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A qualified candidate must have the following skills or abilities:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in flux-core FCAW welding and Mig - GMAW welding.
• Must have 5 years’ experience in fabrication - cutting experience (handheld torch, cut-a-line, plasma, air arc).
• Must have 5 years’ experience reading blueprints.
• Must have 5 years of experience assembling large and small products.
• Must have own welding hood, cutters and measuring tools.
• Must be capable of performing complex welding repairs correctly.
• Must be able to get along well with customers and other employees.
• Ability to be productive by being a self-starter and working efficiently and effectively with a high energy level.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.

Environment/Physical Requirements:

This position is carried out in a weld shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:

• Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
• Must be able to position the welding apparatus in any position the work required.
• Physical weld testing on-site must be acceptable.
