Job Purpose

The Welder 4 is responsible for performing all assigned tasks under the direct supervision of the Assigned Foreman while welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals in accordance with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices.

Description of Essential Duties:

· Work under the direct supervision of the Assigned Foreman and with team members using advanced construction knowledge and techniques in accordance with company policies and procedures.

· Extensive experience with welding tools, procedures using a variety of different techniques, in various positions competent in 6010, 7018 and Flux Core welding processes.

· Achieve good speed of execution while maintaining x-ray quality workmanship adjusting the welding equipment depending on the type of weld being performed.

· In depth understanding of blueprints and welding symbols specific to general industry utilizing math skills to calculate dimensions and weights on blueprints, sketches, or specifications.

· Apply industry standard rigging techniques to safely lift/move material by means of heavy equipment fitting steel using key plates, bull pins, keys, shims, lifting lugs, nuts, u bars, and scaffold clips.

· Maintain equipment, machinery and inspect material to be welded or worked on.

· Ability to lift heavy equipment, tools, grind, and gouge metal for extended periods of time.

· Maintain an organized work area free from any unnecessary hazards associated with the work being performed.

· Perform general housekeeping and all assigned duties as directed by supervision.

Qualification Requirements:

(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. These may be varied based on specific requirements of a location or project)

· High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent.

· Requires the knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired by a welder with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience performing shielded metal arc welding (6010, 7018), flux core arc welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals.

· Ability to pass weld test(s) in all positions per ASME Section IX.

· Oral communication skills are required with the ability to do math and read complex drawings.

· Must have reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
