VP Credit Officer
Norwood Bank
Hybrid -remote schedule following initial orientation period
Norwood Bank is seeking a VP Credit Officer , primarily responsible for organizing and conducting the ongoing loan review of the Bank’s existing commercial portfolio including construction, commercial real estate, and C & I loans.
VP Credit Officer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance including specialized coursework and/or training in credit analysis
- 5 years related experience, including commercial loan experience
- Strong ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and solve problems independently
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax return analysis
- Familiarity with accounting and financial analysis methods and techniques
- Ability to make recommendations, and create reports and presentations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Detailed oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to interact with all management and staff
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Ability to communicate directly with employees, attorneys and vendors

VP Credit Officer Job Responsibilities
- Perform annual and interim reviews and analyze financial statements, income tax returns and supporting documentation on commercial borrowers
- Investigate and analyze credit risks; assign credit ratings and prepare written loan reviews
- Analyze and summarize new commercial credits
- Track and request borrower/property financial information
- Prepare and update Watch/Classified Loan Report
- Request updated financials and appraisals for commercial loan term extension requests; prepare interim reviews
- Identify cross-sell opportunities of the Bank’s products and services
- Follow up with Loan Officer on any exceptions or missing documentation noted during analysis
- Accurately identify loan policy exceptions as well as red flags during the analysis process
- Review appraisals and environmental reports
- Establish, review and update new and existing commercial loan files on a regular basis
- Prepare and present reports including the ALLL to the Lenders and Security Committees
- Contribute to the achievement of commercial team goals as it relates to revenue and portfolio growth, asset quality and compliance
- Provide coaching, training, and guidance to the Junior Credit Analyst; conduct annual performance evaluations
- Flexibility and willingness to assume responsibilities for projects and tasks assigned by the SVP/CLO
- Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment and develop personal growth opportunities
