VIDEO COORDINATOR/PRODUCER

Do you live and breathe video, all mediums, all concepts? Do you dream up TikTok videos in your sleep? Are you equally conversant in hashtags and halftones, brand safe content, and safe title? Do you love NPPA style, but also shoot with your iPhone? Do you love office work, spreadsheets, and long email chains discussing whether a shoot can go for a fifth hour to accommodate a drone sequence? Okay, we know that last one isn’t as much fun, but we also love honest job descriptions. This position will work with leaders at Hearst Newspapers to handle up to 600+ video projects annually for our clients across 46+ properties. It is a chance to engage all parts of your personality – creativity, organization, people skills as this is client-facing and technical work, coordinating production and even doing some production yourself. RESPONSIBILITLIES

  • Conceptualize video messaging for clients, while staying under budget
  • Create engaging video concepts for clients, marketers, and in-house promotions
  • Organize all aspects of multiple daily productions
  • Client-facing calls to explain production processes, scripting, videography, editing, and revisions
  • Editing scripts from vendors and writing original scripts
  • Organizing databases and tracking protocols
  • Maximizing revenue and watching costs for markets and clients
  • Video editing and videography and voiceovers as needed
  • Social media production
  • Training markets on video production

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have firsthand experience in field (on-location) production either in local television, documentaries, commercial production, or social video production
  • Must have video editing and video storytelling experience
  • Must be in either Houston or San Antonio or willing to relocate
  • Must be willing to work a hybrid schedule office 3 days a week
  • College degree in broadcast journalism, film and television, or similar
  • 2-6 years’ experience in a media or sales environment either in production, client-facing roles, sales, marketing, PR, or broadcast or digital journalism
  • Strong PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, Salesforce and Email skills .
