The George E. Booth Co., Inc is a family-owned and operated industrial automation sales company looking to hire their next full-time Vice President of Sales.


The ideal candidate will find success in the position by fostering high levels of accountability, promoting sales approaches and goals through all levels of the sales team while having an operative and strategic understanding of sales principles. The maintenance of open channels of communication with both internal and external partners to ensure all customer needs are met is vital to the success of this role.

Responsibilities for the VP of Sales

  • Foster high levels of accountability, drive a growth mindset and collaboration between all sales team members.
  • Develop operative and strategic understanding of sales approaches, goals, and network.
  • Demonstrate influential leadership that promotes the advancement of the entire organization and exceeds the needs of our customers.
  • Build and promote effective team by managing performance, setting clear performance goals, maintain frequent conversations about performance and providing action plans and ongoing feedback.
  • Assist area managers and sales team members in developing and implementing strategic sales plans to help achieve organization wide sales goals.
  • Frequently review market analyses with all stakeholders to determine customer needs and price schedules.
  • Keep a pulse on competitors through evaluation of products and activities.
  • Coordinate the development or implementation of budgetary control systems, recordkeeping systems and other administrative control processes.
  • Present information at meetings to promote services, products, exchange ideas and accomplish objectives.
  • All other duties as assigned by shareholders.

Requirements for the VP of Sales

  • Travel to customer sites during business hours or other office locations, especially headquarters location is expected, travel time could exceed 60% overnight stays in all areas of the company territory.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in technical field interfacing with customer and management of direct reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field (electrical, engineering, etc.) or equivalent work experience in technical field required.
  • Attention to detail, organization skills and ability to work independently or with a team are a must for success in this role.
  • Results-driven personality a must.
  • Strong communication skills whether written, verbal or otherwise required especially using moderately complex terminology and concepts.
